Last Sunday, Pastor Dave delivered a compelling message. On Wednesdays, our study group at Westminster is diving into Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Pastor Dave highlighted a parallel question explored by both Lewis and the Gospel of Mark: Who is Jesus?

The sermon examined this very question, exploring whether Jesus is a liar, a lunatic, a Lord, or simply a leader. Mark chapter 3 captures how family members and synagogue leaders questioned Jesus's sanity, even while impure spirits recognized Him as Lord.

Jesus continues to awe us with His ability to expand our understanding of family, seeing far beyond our human capabilities. He redefines family by looking past immediate bloodlines; His grace affirms people who don't quite fit into other spaces, letting them know they belong and are part of His family.

This grace reaches far beyond His time on Earth. His love is ever-expanding—without it, we wouldn't be saved by His grace today. He continues to pour into us through the Holy Spirit. Because of this, it is vital for us to believe with our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and Savior. Jesus continuously reminds us that we belong.

This Sunday, Pastor Faith will continue this journey into Jesus's identity according to the Gospel of Mark with her sermon, "Open Again: Becoming Good Soil." Let’s keep our minds and hearts open to hearing from God and growing in His Word.

All Nighter Hosted by WPC

Saturday, October 24, 7:00pm

Join us from Saturday, October 24th, to Sunday, October 25th, 7PM–10AM for bowling, a pumpkin carving contest, movies and snacks, midnight dodgeball, and morning worship with breakfast. This overnight event is designed for students ages 13–17 to connect, laugh, and grow together. Our mission trip friends and leaders will also be joining us for this unforgettable night! Cost is $30 per student. 

Trunk or Treat

WPC and WPC Preschool are teaming up to give the kids a great night of fun! We need volunteers to decorate their car trunks and pass out candy. Person of the week

Alyssa Bohner was born and raised in Westlake Village, CA. She is a proud graduate of the WPC Preschool, and she has a younger sister who recently made her an aunt.

She graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Recreation and Tourism, with an emphasis on Liberal Studies. She previously worked for the City of Agoura Hills in Community Services and was the Director of the Boys & Girls Club in Moorpark, CA. We are so happy to have her as our new WPC Preschool Director!

She met her husband in 2009 while working at a summer camp. They are celebrating 12 years of marriage this Sunday, October 11. From this union, they have two wonderful children, Riley (8) and Owen (4), who are both part of the WPC Preschool family.

She loves her role as a mother and is very active in her children's activities and youth sports. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, but baseball ("Go Dodgers!") and days at the beach truly warm her heart.

What she loves most about WPC is the community it creates. The connections and friendships that bind these families together are truly a blessing.

Every Sunday one of our team of trained Stephen Ministers is available after the worship service. The bench sits in our courtyard near the WPC Fellowship Center, allowing you to talk with someone who will listen without judgment. The Stephen Minister will offer to pray with you, but you're also welcome to share whatever is on your heart.
